On Joyce Bernal

We meet a lot of inspiring people along the way, that's a given. But those that really inspire us, touched something from our core.

Shook our beliefs and reality.

Changed what has long been essential to us . . . in ways where we crave to tread their lives.

I've always been fond of bathing ( You say, who doesn't???) Yes that is understatement. It is an essential daily routine and personally, I would simply die without it! It impairs me. It renders me weak.

Now enough with the essay.

After watching Direk Joyce Bernal's Kris TV interview, I found myself staring into space - amazed. I was simply astounded, not only with how she casually mentioned it in front of national TV, that bathing is not a big deal for her. Sometimes she does it. Often times she forgets. I am rendered speechless with how this woman gets her work done.

I must admit, a huge part of my functionality depends on wether I have bathed or not. Yes, it can be a matter of life and death for me.

This woman puts my weakness right before my eyes, enlarged it and put it in a golden frame for everyone to see.

I was more impressed to learn that because of the heavy traffic of ideas on her head, she doesn't trust herself to drive a car. Now I would like that kind of efficiency. I don't drive because I can! Imagine.

Now this is one unique way of viewing success. You don't allow to be a slave of the mediocre.
You don't allow to be a slave of routine. You don't allow to be a slave of your weakness.

It's those simple things you believe to be important to everyone . . .  yet those that are highly effective like Joyce don't make it a win or lose battle like I have. They simply rise above it.

I haven't stopped bathing to be like Joyce. I still get irritated when there's no water. But I can work for 12 hours now even with only 6 hours of sleep.

I say, I am getting there. . .
